Guestbook? Very 1997 that, you say. Well, this one’s been around that long and we’ve loved receiving and publishing feedback from around the world. If you’re more inclined towards the busy high street of all things webby, go to our Tripadvisor page to have your say. On the other hand, if you have a fondness for the old-school or a tendency to the quietly retro, do please post a message here. Go on …Sign the guestbook
2013-02-07Have always had lovely meals here. Looking forward to getting Denis’s new cookbook! Might be eating here again Sat night if Conor can find me!!!
I am one of the two Dennis’ mentioned in response # 167. I agree with Michael Cotter, what a wonderful evening and the food was outstanding in quantity, taste and presentation.
After months of re-creating meals from ‘For the love of food’ my wife and I finally made the journey to Cafe Paradiso. We descended into gastro bliss. All aspects of our evening went above and beyond our expectations. We will be back, and soon.
We were recommended to the cafe by a docent at St. Fin Barre’s when we were visiting on 22 September this year. A Saturday. Place was packed, even at 3pm. Food was so wonderful I wanted to LICK THE PLATE (but didn’t want to, you know, contribute to the Ugly American myth). :) Now I’m kicking myself for not purchasing a cookbook while I had the chance. We were in Ireland for 3 weeks and this was one of our most memorable meals.
2 American visitors, (both named Denis Cotter) and I had the pleasure of a meal in your restaurant a few weeks ago and the food was simply delicious, the attention was first class, and overall the whole experience was amazing. I hope to repeat the experience each time I go to Cork in future. As Iwrite, my wife is making the “Lucy’s breakfast sausages” from your recipe book!
My sisters and I had a beautiful meal with you on Sat. night last. The flavours were amazing! the service was attentive but not overpowering – an overall great visit. With our aperitif we had a really tasty snack – a seed cracker – which the waitress told me how to make but after a glass (or 2) of wine I’ve forgotten. Any chance you could share it?? Thanks!
I’m sorry that I didn’t get to post this message sooner, but better late than never! Myself and my better half were at Cafe P in springtime where we stayed one of the evenings and then following a sumptious dinner and splendid breakfast, we headed to Gort Na Nain for another evening and morning of feasting. Both highly enjoyable experiences with beautiful imaginative food and lovely chats with the folk who fed and watered us! Really recommend it and if you can manage, stretch it to staying at both locations for marvellous hospitality. Thanks guys, hope we’ll get back to you soon!
Last Wednesday night I ate the most sumptuous, tantalising taste treat I have ever experienced, which will remain with me forever. Thank you, Paradiso for affirming after 18 years of vegetarianism that mind blowing recipes are available in restaurants. Forever a fan; I’ll be calling by every time I’m in your neighbourhood.
We were lucky enough to visit you twice for supper. Great presentation, quality and tastes. A wake up call to the senses and such lovely staff, very helpful and welcoming. I will make a point of going back when next in this area. I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.
Wow – we love the new menus. How I wish we lived nearby, or maybe you could open up down here….. please!
Hope it’s not too late to wish Geraldine and everyone a very happy and successful 2012. You have been often in our thoughts since our visit in November -sounds a bit extreme to say it was a life-changing experience, but it’s certainly given a new lease of life to our eating habits as we work our way through the growing collection of Paradiso cookery books. Great to hear Dennis on The Food Programme on BBC4 yesterday.
During a recent visit to to Cafe Paradiso I had the limone Paradiso for desert. It was simply the most amazing desert I have ever had. Ever. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I adore Cafe Paradiso and wish once again there was one in Dublin. One teeny tiny thing though is that as a veggie with a pepper allergy (which includes chilli) my choices are a little more limited than most so more cream less spice please : ), but what I did have was still heaven on a plate. I will be back! : )
I’m not a veggie but after sampling some of your totally yummy recipes from the book of yours that i won recently i’m seriously considering becoming one. The beetroot risotto with broad beans is by far one of the best things i’ve ever tasted, I just wish you were here to cook it for me.
When my daughter decided to follow a vegetarian diet I was very excited to have another reason to explore vegetarian cuisine. Your monthly recipes, which I found after you were visited by Bobby Flay, have been a delight. Thank you.
