Paradiso has been honoured at the global World Restaurant Awards, winning the category ‘Collaboration of the Year’ for its work with Gortnanain Farm. Denis Cotter was at the ceremony in Paris on Monday 18th February to accept the award, as was his collaborator-in-chief, Ultan Walsh of Gortnanain Farm.

Even in an era of awards overkill, this is a hugely satisfying honour for Paradiso, for the chef behind it, Denis Cotter, and by extension for Ultan and Lucy of Gortnain Farm also, as it recognises and celebrates the working relationship between restaurant and farm that has been at the heart of what Paradiso is for almost two decades.

Guestbook? Very 1997 that, you say. Well, this one’s been around that long and we’ve loved receiving and publishing feedback from around the world. If you’re more inclined towards the busy high street of all things webby, go to our Tripadvisor page to have your say. On the other hand, if you have a fondness for the old-school or a tendency to the quietly retro, do please post a message here. Go on …Sign the guestbook
Happily stumbled upon Cafe Paradiso when visiting Cork last June. We were starving, weary and carting around our 2 month-old babe. The lovely ladies welcomed us in and served us the most amazing fare!
Best cuisine we had in our 6 weeks in Europe.
We’ll definitely be back.
Had the most delicious meal tonight, can’t thank you enough. I LOVED not having to look for the vegetarian option _ Keep up the sensational work!
We’ve stayed in Cafe Paradiso twice in the last year or so, the first time my boyfriend proposed to me in one of the rooms and the second time was part of our honeymoon! I LOVE Cafe Paradiso, and not just for the food. Bridget was the perfect, perfect hostess, looking after us when our car got locked in the car park across the way and celebrating our engagement with us. We actually nearly cried when we saw the breakfast menu, it was so nice to be able to choose from everything on the menu. Of course we will be back! Ruth and James
family members reccommended, passed on to best friends…. thank you Biddy for making their stay so enjoyable!
After ‘discovering’ your website, I brought my husband to Cork (and Cafe Paradiso) for his 40th birthday celebration, Aug ‘06. We were certainly not disappointed and your restaurant lived up to our high expectations. Gourmet heaven!!!
I spent some days in Cork last autumn and found your book in a local bookshop. Seeing that you were from Cork, I decided to dine at the Café Paradiso. It was like in paradise – I was overwhelmed by the fine vegetarian food which tasted unbelievably good. Since returning home I have been cooking your recipes which reminds me of my visit to your restaurant. Thank you so very much.
Hats off! You do it so well. We had an impeccable evening. Yummy food – artfully conceived and presented. Attentive, informed service. Magnificent wines. If dancing were allowed you’d have footprints on your ceiling.
Loved my meal at Paradiso in June ‘06. Wanted the Cookbook with the Hummis recipe and couldnt fine it? which one is it in? also the broccoli, tomato——?
Congratulations on your excellent wines, choice of foods, customer service, and dining atmosphere, well done! My favourite wining and dining venue in Cork!!
i recently recieved one of your cookbooks as a gift and i love the recipes, next time i am in cork i will drop in and eat
I recently purchased your cookbook “Cafe Paradiso Seasons” at a bookstore in New Hampshire, USA. My husband and I both love to cook and we both agree that the recipes represent the finest food we’ve ever created. My little health food store is now keeping me stocked in haloummi (they had never heard of it!). Perhaps someday if I make it across the Atlantic, I will drop in and dine with you. Until then, I will continue to create dishes from your cookbook. Thank you for sharing your cuisine with those of us in the US!!
I am treating my parents, mr& mrs r.Patel
for a weekend break in Cork and recomended you place for meals.
I have never stayed or eaten at the Cafe Paradiso. In fact, I have never been to Ireland, but it is one of the places i must visit in my life, and whenever I get the chance to go to Cork, I’ll definitely drop in!
can’t forget that evening when i’ve had the best dinner ever! would love to come back every single week…
see you soon. hopefully.
